Cancelling Games / Rain-Outs

Once a game is scheduled with a date, time and field on the MBL site, the status of the game changes to SCHEDULED.  Anytime a coach makes a change to the game (date, time, field, etc), both coaching staffs, home field coordinator and umpire coordinator will receive an email notification alerting them of the change, and the status of the game will change to RESCHEDULED.  If you need to make further changes to the game, you can.

Changes on the day of the game
If you need to make a change on the day of the game, first you need to CANCEL the game by clicking CANCEL GAME. This will generate the email notification, to ensure all parties know the game is not happening. After the status has been changed to CANCELLED, you will now have the option to RESCHEDULE - where you can change the date, time and field. On the day of a game, you cannot directly reschedule the game details until you CANCEL the game.

Changes on any day before or after the day of the game
For a change made before or after game day, you can skip the CANCEL GAME procedure and go straight to RESCHEDULE. This will still generate the email notification to all parties connected to the game. If you and your opponent know a game date is not going to work and you will need to reschedule - but you are not sure of what date yet - you can click the CANCEL button, which will change the game status to CANCELLED. You can add the details whenever you agree upon those with your opponent, by clicking RESCHEDULE.

If possible, decisions on cancelling a game because of rain/weather conditions should be made at least 2 hours-15 minutes prior to game time. To apply the info from the paragraphs above, if it's a rainy day and you decide to cancel your 6:00 PM game at 3:00 PM, click on the game ID number and select CANCEL GAME. If you already have a new date and time confirmed with your opponent, you will now have the option to reschedule the game details.
