Charitable Gambling

Did you know that when you play pull tabs, bingo, and other bar games, a portion of your purchase helps support youth baseball across the Twin Cities? That means you can have a great time, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and even win some cash—all while helping local communities enhance their baseball fields and facilities. Who knows? One day you might glance up at the TV in your favorite establishment and see a ballplayer who grew up on a field you helped improve!

Minnesota law allows only nonprofits registered with the Secretary of State or the IRS to conduct charitable gambling. The Gambling Control Board currently recognizes five forms of charitable gambling: pull-tabs, bingo, paddlewheels, tip boards, and raffles.

The Metro Baseball League (MBL) is a nonprofit organization that operates charitable gambling - including pull tabs and bingo - at the locations listed below.

Our charitable gambling manager, who has served since 2010, is also a member of the Board of Directors for Allied Charities of Minnesota. Together with our assistant manager and 32 dedicated sellers, they work tirelessly to maintain our 5-star rating with the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. This rating reflects our commitment to returning gambling proceeds to the more than 90 communities we serve. MBL uses these funds to improve fields and facilities, partner with training centers to offer affordable clinics, and keep costs low for community-based traveling baseball programs.

Since 2003, the Metro Baseball League has proudly donated over 4 million dollars to youth baseball leagues and communities.
